Administrator's Corner
by Terrie Bearden
May/June 2010

I can’t believe that another year is coming to a close! This year has gone by so quickly. It seems like only yesterday we were all getting settled into our classrooms. Thank you for all of your support and love for CCLA and our staff. We all count it a blessing to be a part of your families.
The student council has a spectacular activity planned for May 22. The article is in the column below. We are having a car wash/bake sale to raise funds for new tricycles, to off set field trip costs and to send another care box to Kirk Johnson whom we are supporting in Afghanistan.
Kirk is in the Navy and he is a Seabee. He is currently doing reconstruction and building with his unit in Afghanistan. We have adopted Kirk and are praying for him. If anyone in your family is currently serving in Iraq or Afghanistan please give me their name and we will pray for them and send them a box of care and love.
Enrollment starts for the elementary CCLA summer camp program this week. Please be looking for the form in your child’s locker or homework packet. Enrollment is limited to 14 so it is first come, first served.
Two graduations are almost upon us. The graduation for the students going from Pre-K to Kindergarten will be held on Tuesday June 8 at 6:30. There will be a reception after in our fellowship hall.
Graduation for our fifth graders will be in conjunction with our elementary spring program. This will be held on Thursday June 10 at 6:30.
There is so much going on so be sure to keep checking your child’s locker or cubby for more information.
I HOPE YOU ALL PURCHASED A YEAR BOOK. It is absolutely beautiful and I want to thank Pat deCastro (Austin and Ethan Friberg’s grandma) for all of her hard work. It really is a labor of love. There is still time to purchase but money must be in by FRIDAY MAY 14.
June 4 will be our last hot lunch until school starts in late August. See me if you want your child to be part of our Wendy’s kid’s meal lunch that day.
The elementary last day picnic will be held at Berry Street park on June 11 from 8:30 until noon. We will have a potluck lunch and a sign up will be going around. It is always a fun time!
CCLA CLOSED MAY 31
God's Blessings To You All!
